For the Physician Licensure Examination, applicants taking the Preliminary Examination must be enrolled as medical students in a CHED-recognized medical school. The requirements include a PSA Birth Certificate, PSA Marriage Contract for married female applicants, Transcript of Records (TOR), and a Certificate of Good Moral Character from the Dean of the College of Medicine.
For the Physician Licensure Examination (Final Complete), Filipino citizens who obtained their medical degree from Philippine medical schools must submit a PSA Birth Certificate, PSA Marriage Contract for married female applicants, two Certificates of Good Moral Character, Transcript of Records, Diploma of MD Degree or its equivalent, and a Certificate of Post Graduate Internship from a hospital accredited by the Association of Philippine Medical Colleges (APMC). The two Certificates of Good Moral Character may come from the medical school where the applicant graduated, the hospital or institution where the applicant completed internship, or the Indigenous Community/Parish where the applicant belongs.
An examinee who fails the examination for the third time must submit a Certificate of Completion of a refresher course from a recognized medical school or college, together with two current Certificates of Good Moral Character from the medical school where the examinee graduated and the hospital or institution where the examinee completed internship, before being allowed to take the examination again.

The Physicians Licensure Examination (PLE) covers Physiology; Legal Medicine, Medical Jurisprudence and Medical Ethics; Pathology; Biochemistry; Anatomy and Histology; Microbiology and Parasitology; Obstetrics and Gynecology; Pediatrics and Nutrition; Preventive Medicine; Pharmacology and Therapeutics; Surgery; and Medicine.
On October 3, 2026, the examination covers Physiology, followed by Legal Medicine, Medical Jurisprudence and Medical Ethics, and Pathology. On October 4, 2026, the subjects are Biochemistry, Anatomy and Histology, and Microbiology and Parasitology.
On October 10, 2026, the coverage consists of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics and Nutrition, and Preventive Medicine. On October 11, 2026, the final subjects are Pharmacology and Therapeutics, Surgery, and Medicine. Each subject is scheduled for a two-hour examination period.
